zion = no sleep

Yes, we spent the night in the mini van!!!
Sam and I drove down a day early and had to wait all night in the parking lot to get a back country permits for the Subway hike. It is almost becoming impossible to obtain the permit so this was our plan. Pulling in we found out we weren't the only ones (but we had the largest sleeping quarters).
Set the alarm for 3 AM, Sam went to check out the situation and crazy enough there were already people waiting. You are only aloud a chair so off he went. I switched him out a few hours later and it all paid off.
GOOD TIMES!
So what do we do with little sleep? Hike Angels Landing of coarse!
Half way up we got rain, thunder, and lightning.
With in minutes water falls started over the rocks and some of them were impressive.
I learned flash floods can happen fast.
We waited it out and continued.
A bit out of my comfort zone.
While I was worried about being struck by lightning, wet slippery rocks and chain, Sam was only worried about all of the GERMS on the chain.

The cute squirrels were so friendly. Is it bad that Sam fed them?

It was quite the hike but well worth it.

Yes it is illegal to feed the squirrels. There are signs all over Zion's stating it is a $100 fine. The pictures look great!!
